Be a part of the fast-growing Northwest Little League GIRLS SOFTBALL PROGRAM! Please spread the word to other families as we work to build up our great girls league! If you have questions about the program, please contact the commissioner at: email@example.com. For all registration questions, please contact the NWLL registrar: firstname.lastname@example.org.
We build skills and play against teams throughout DC. For spring 2019, we hope to field:
- A 14u team
- A 12u team
- A 10u team
- 8-year-old girls are welcome to participate in the league and will take part in the skills clinic (and games, depending on ability/confidence!)
Girls can participate in NWLL Softball if they live OR go to school in our geographic boundaries. Click HERE to see a map of our huge zone, which stretches from the Maryland line all the way into downtown.
We practice at Friendship Park (45th and Van Ness Streets, NW). Girls should endeavor to attend both weekly practices, but are still welcome on our teams if they can only attend one or the other.
Weeknight: 1.5 hours on a weeknight TBD.
Sundays: Clinics will be held from 2-4pm.
Times: Games are also on Sundays, either during the clinic time slot or at other times, which will be announced when the season starts. If we have enough coaching volunteers, we will hold both Sunday games and clinics and girls not playing in games will still get to participate in the clinic.
Locations: We play at home and away. Away games are most frequently played in Crestwood, Georgetown and Capitol Hill.
Northwest Little League Girls Softball relies on volunteers and we need more coaches! In the past, we have benefited from a combination of parents and recent college grads serving as coaches. We can use full time coaches AND people who are just able to help out sometimes. Please contact the softball commissioner to volun
Welcome to Northwest Little League’s registration for the spring 2019 season of the Challenger Division For Special Needs Children. Since 1983, the Challenger program has offered physically and mentally challenged youngsters an opportunity to play baseball. There are no applicable “boundaries” since NWLL has the only such program in the District.
The rules and spirit of our Challenger program are designed to spur friendly competition and instill the love of baseball in the players. Challenger players are teamed up with players from NWLL’s Majors Division, who serve as “buddies” and help with fielding and hitting. Fun is the main goal!
The Challenger program is open to boys and girls ages 4-18, or up to the age of 22 if still enrolled in school. Games will be played weekly on Sunday afternoons at Friendship Field (45th ST and Van Ness, NW). The cost for the season is $25, with fee waivers available as needed. Please register at nwlldc.org before the season starts.
Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the Challenger League’s commissioner (email@example.com) or the NWLL registrar.
Northwest Little League’s registration for the Spring 2019 season, including the Class A, AA, AAA, Majors, Intermediate, Junior and Seniors divisions, is now open! Please register as soon as possible, as space is limited. Registration fees will increase by $35 per player on January 6th and we will close divisions on a rolling basis once they reach capacity. Individual registrations after the February 1 and 15 deadlines will increase by $50.
Tryouts are required for all spring AAA and Majors players to promote competitive balance between teams. All in-boundary, age-appropriate boys and girls who try out will be placed on a team regardless of experience or skill level (i.e., no one will be “cut”).
